Orange Highway Department (Public Works)

Flag as Inappropriate

The Highway Department is overseen by Crew Chief Donald Foyer. There are two foremen, two highly trained mechanics, four heavy equipment operators, and three all-around workers. The men say the backbone of the operation is Administrative Assistant Liz Mullin, who keeps everything running smoothly. The Highway Department is busy year-round with roadside mowing, clearing leaves and snow plowing all part of the job description. The team also helps prepare for many town events, including putting up fencing for the Orange Country Fair, stringing lights on the town tree for the holiday festival and placing barricades and signs up for parades. The mechanics service all town vehicles, including police cruisers, fire trucks, park and recreation trucks and its own equipment.
