Fred Astaire Orange Dance Studio is part of a chain of 150 dance studios. The first one opened in Manhattan in 1947. The Orange studio offers private lessons to individuals, couples and small groups typically in the range of five to ten people. The studio is a great social venue, offering instruction and dance floor space to everyone from absolute beginers to advanced dancers who frequently participate in local and international competitions. Client ages span from eight to eighty-five years of age. Owner Martin Ramsauer emphasizes the introduction of dance to younger generations and at times trips are arranged for competitionsin locations from Las Vegas to Puerto Rico to Europe to a Bahamas dance cruise. The instructors have a repertoire of 13 different dances availible to those willing and wanting to learn and improve or brush up for competitions, ranging from mamba to salsa to waltz to swing to quick step to tango and many more. All instructors are professional ballroom dancers and dancing lesson packages are availible for individuals who have no partner as well as couples and groups. The studio also puts on wedding dancing lessons for entertainment. "If you can walk you can dance," says owner Martin Ramsauer.
