Reggae Fest, Art Workshop, Softball Tryouts

Sketching the World Around You

class on field sketching will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, at Yale Peabody Museum Community Education Center in Orange.

"Explore the woodland and water habitats of Yale’s West Campus," CT Natural Science Illustrators wrote in the Orange Patch announcement. "Strengthen observational skills as you sketch outside in these natural environments." 

Lobsterfest in Orange

The Orange Rotary's annual Lobsterfest begins at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at High Plains Community Center. Tickets are $40 per person. Children may eat from a kids' menu, at $7 per child.

Reggae Festival

A Reggae Festival featuring Beres Hammond and Maxi Priest will take place on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Ives Concert Park in Danbury. Gates open at 4 p.m. Visit the Ives Concert Park blog for more information.

Softball Tryouts

The CT Falcons girls' softball team is hosting tryouts beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at East Haven High School.

Shoreline Jewish Festival 

A celebration of Jewish life will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, on the Guilford Green.

The Shoreline Jewish Festival features various styles of Jewish music, kosher traditional and Israeli fair food, an art and book sale, children’s crafts and activities.
