What's going on in and around Orange? Quite a lot, including chorale auditions and a pro wrestling event.

It's not every week that such a wide variety of events are happening in and around Orange. Here's what's happening the week of August 19.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

Opie’s World is a program to promote outdoor recreation and appreciation of nature. The family friendly event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Maltby Lakes Recreation Area.

The New Haven Chorale is hosting auditions from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Educational Center for the Arts, 55 Audubon St., New Haven.

A jam making and canning basics workshop will take place at 6 p.m. at Chef's Equipment Emporium, 449 Boston Post Road, Orange. Cost is $65 per person.

Saturday, Aug. 24

CTWE Pro Wrestling returns to Bethany at 7 p.m. for its five year anniversary event. The event will take place at 190 Luke Hill Road. Visit the event listing for more information.

Ticket prices range from $15 to $30.

The Orange Republican Town Committee's family picnic will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Orange Fairgrounds High Plains Community Center.
