It's Time For Santa's Helper — Don't Be Left Out In The Cold.

The Orange Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary's popular holiday fundraiser is back. Drop off is next weekend.

Santa’s Helper 2011 is set to begin soon! The Orange Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary wants you to share in the fun and excitement of this highly anticipated program.

Santa’s Helper is a fun-filled fund-raising event that has, for the past 16 years, delivered gifts, smiles and joy to thousands of homes throughout Orange. Everyone, including Santa's elves and the firefighters, looks forward to seeing the fire trucks coming down their street, with lights and sirens on and with Santa on board, leading the way. The truck is filled with gifts, and Santa's helpers and elves visit with each family while delivering their gifts.

If you want to join in the fun and have one of the Santa teams arrive at your front door, it’s easy. Just follow the simple steps and soon, you’ll be hearing lights, sirens and Ho Ho Ho, coming down your street.

Gift Drop-Off Day is Saturday, Nov. 19, at Fire Station No. 2, 355 Boston Post Road, 10:30 - 3 p.m. (The ending time is only estimated as all available spots tend to fill up earlier).

Bring the gifts you would like to be delivered to your loved ones to that location on that day.  Each gift must be wrapped in holiday paper with an over-wrap of plain brown paper. The recipients name and address must be clearly printed on the outside.

There is a fee of $12 per gift, per household. The Fire Department is limited to deliver to 160 households.

This is an extremely popular event, and those spots fill up quickly. Everyone is strongly encouraged to do their best to arrive at the station for drop-off day early. (It's no joke, the available spots tend to fill up after only a few hours.)

Santa’s Helper Delivery takes place on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 3 - 9 p.m. Santa on his fire truck with his elves and special helpers will arrive at your home to deliver gifts back to your loved ones, and spend some time with your family for photos and smiles.

All proceeds from this event benefit the Orange Volunteer Fire Department and are used toward the purchase of rescue and fire equipment.

If you have any questions, you can email Elf Mama at: ofdsantashelper@aol.com. She will help you via email. Please do not call the Fire Stations as it’s a volunteer department and there will not be anyone there to assist you with Santa’s Helper.

Emailing Santa’s Helper does not guarantee you a spot on the delivery route. Sign up occurs on gift drop-off day and is on a first come, first serve basis.
