Sunday's Doodlebug Contest CANCELED

The Orange Country Fair was going to host the Spring Doodlebug Contest at the fairgrounds on May 15.

The area’s best doodlebug drivers will gather for a spring pull at the Orange Country Fairgrounds, Sunday, May 15.  Participants will be vying for bragging rights as they warm-up for the “big event” at the Orange Country Fair, September 17 & 18, 2011. 

Doodlebugs have long been a crowd favorite at the Orange Country Fair.  These unique machines, made from old trucks with heavy duty rear axles and two transmissions, are built for the sole purpose of dragging concrete blocks a distance of three feet.

Weigh-in for the trucks begins at 11 a.m., and the competition starts at noon.  Join us at the fairgrounds for an afternoon of clutches burning, gears grinding, and axles twisting, and cheer on your favorite driver!
