Amity Boys and Girls Track Sweep Championships
For the third time ever, both squads finish on top.
Amity Regional High School's boys and girls outdoor track and field squads both placed first at a championship meet Monday at Sheehan High School in Wallingford.
It's the third time ever that both the boys and girls finished on top in their respective competitions, according to the Southern Connecticut Conference.
The final tallies:
Boys: Amity Regional - 109; Xavier - 93; Branford - 73.5.
Girls: Amity Regional - 119; Hillhouse 96; Shelton - 73
Amity Regional sports is back in action Tuesday as the softball team takes on Cheshire in a quarterfinal; the baseball team plays West Haven in a quarterfinal; boys tennis meets Guilford in a semifinal; girls tennis also meets Guilford in a semifinal; and boys volleyball plays Xavier in a semifinal.
