Traffic At The Polls Is Slow But... (With Update)

Voter turnout may be low, although higher than expected.

 

Only about 300 residents came out to vote on last year's Town Budget, so no one expected too many more to be motivated to vote in the today.

But by 4 p.m. much to everyone's surprise, 412 people already had cast their votes and one-by-one, a steady stream of residents were still coming in.

UPDATE: A reader reported "As of 6:18 when we went to vote, there were 621 votes cast."

All three Orange districts are voting at today and with three hours remaining before the polls close, everyone still has plenty of time to let their voice be heard.

The town of Orange has the burden of paying most of the Amity budget. Voting in the referendum is the only way to let the Amity Board of Education know how you, as Orange residents feel about that.
