Preview: Amity Board of Ed Meeting Tonight

The meeting, just over a week before school starts, will cover finance and personnel.

Two special Amity Board of Education meetings Monday night will all but herald the new school year with a flurry of announcements and discussion, much of it focusing on finance.

A 5:30 p.m. finance committee meeting will precede the regular Board of Education meeting, at 6:30 p.m. in the Presentation Room of the District Offices at 25 Newton Road in Woodbridge.

  • Second quarter 2012 review of the Amity pension fund, Sick and Severance Account, and OPEB Trust, and discussion (and a possible vote) on a plan to use Vanguard Index Mutual Funds instead of iShares.
  • Discussion and possible action on Amity Fund Balance Policy.
  • An update on bond refinancing and bond sale.
  • Discussion of monthly financial statements for the previous and upcoming fiscal year.
  • Discussion and possible action on budget transfers.
  • Announcements from the board and administration on Administrative Retreat and Teacher Only Day.
