Orange Lighted House Is Top 24 National Finalist!

Thanks to you Orange, our public schools are now in the running for a $100,000 donation from Patch! Voting is now open!

Dear Patch Readers,

Hurrah! At 12:45 a.m. I received notification that "Orange Patch has been selected for the Top 24 and is eligible for the $100,000 national prize!"

What does that mean, you ask? It means that the judge for the chose this festive Orange home as one of the 24 National Finalists!

It also means that Peggy Koether, will receive $500 for her December electric bill.

Most importantly for the town, it means that Orange Public Schools are now in the running for a $100,000 donation from Patch! To vote, go to our website and vote for the Orange CT entry. If it gets the most votes of all the 24 finalists, the will receive $100,000 from Patch!

To remind you to vote, Patch will be sending me yard signs and fliers that I will proudly distribute around town. In the meantime, shout it from rooftops, blast it to everyone you know in emails and on social media, and let the word resound throughout Orange to vote.

Each person can vote once a day from today, Dec. 30, through Jan. 8. Again, that website to vote is: deckthehouse.patch.com

Thank you Peggy for entering our contest, and thank you Patch readers for getting her to the finals! Now, lets do the same for the kids!

Congratulations on becoming a finalist! House looks great! Now lets get out the votes for $100,000 for the OBOE! That money can buy lots of books, technology, and supplies for the kids! A new superintendent and $100k! What a great way to start 2012!

That house is no where near as good as "That house in Milford" and that house actually donates to a good cause. This is a shame.
