Orange and Amity public schools are getting out early today.
The districts just announced the decision on their websites. Orange said:
"The Orange Elementary Schools will be having an early dismissal today. Mary L. Tracy will dismiss at 11:00 a.m. and Race Brook, Turkey Hill and Peck Place will dismiss at 12:55 p.m."
And Amity said:
"Amity Schools are on an early dismissal schedule today due to the forecast of inclement weather this afternoon and evening. High school will dismiss at 10:55 - exam schedule. Middle schools will dismiss at 11:45. There are no afterschool or evening activities!"
The snow, about an inch, is expected to start early this afternoon before turning over to sleet and rain into the evening.
