Mural Will Replace Bulletin Board at Mary L. Tracy

Amity High graduate Allie Stack will paint the mural thanks to a Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation Grant.

Allie Stack's artistic talents will soon become a permanent fixture in Orange.

The Woodbridge native and Amity High School graduate has been awarded a Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation Grant to complete an original painting for the Orange Board of Education. The plan is to unveil Stack’s new artwork at the Board of Education meeting on Sept. 9, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Stack, a student at Maine College of Art, submitted a mural for an old bulletin board, which currently hangs in the Mary L. Tracy upstairs meeting hall.

Stack's no stranger to artistic accolades. She took home third-place in Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro's  Congressional Art Competition in 2012.

The following information comes directly from a press release from Orange Public Schools.

About the Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation

Jamie was a creative soul who had the gift of seeing the world as a thing of beauty. Her dreams for the future always involved “creating” in one way or another.

As she grew into adulthood, she became a talented studio artist, writer, dancer, singer, songwriter, actor, and comedian.

Jamie’s dream of pursuing a career in the arts was cut short in 2002 just two weeks before her 21st birthday after a brief battle with an aggressive form of lymphoma.

To celebrate Jamie’s vivacious spirit and the beauty that she brought to the world, her family and friends established the Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation. The foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides educational and career development opportunities in the arts through a generous grant program.

The Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation is dedicated to the support of young artists who share in Jamie’s creative passion and her love of taking artistic risks. Our goal is to provide opportunities for young artists and early career professionals to expand their artistic talent and to pursue their dreams.
