Green Dragons Defeat Spartans 7-2; Joey Ciancola Remembered

The Hamden Green Dragons were fired up at the Bennett Rink in West Haven on Dec. 23.

Tribute to Joey Ciancola

As the Spartans skated out onto the ice at the Bennett Rink in West Haven, nodded to his asst coaches and they hung a Spartans Jersey on the plexiglass in the team's box.

The number 3 was not visible to fans sitting behind the team, but everyone knew it was in tribute to former captain, the late , who passed away just before Thanksgiving this year.

Many remember Lindgren's heart wrenching eulogy in which he said this season would be dedicated to Joey. His former teammate, and good friend, was in the stands for this game.

Before each period the coaches would enter the box and touch the jersey and some players, many with a memorial JC 3, decal on thier helmets, would touch it with their sticks before entering the ice.

Terri, What is wrong with Patch? This story has 11 pictures, but only 6 can be seen. It's like that with every story even the baseball, soccer and football games that you photographed so nicely only 6 of the pictures show up on the Patch. At Christmas I tried to show my grandfather baseball photos of my nephew, but they are all gone. We were all so disappointed. What did you do?

April, I don't know. It's been like that for a while. I just checked the smartphone App and all of them appear there. Why they aren't on the site — I haven't a clue. It's frustrating for me too. The sports parents appreciate multiple photos as do the folks at the library, special events committee, schools and big festivals in town. I hope it is fixed soon.

Terri/April - I see all 11 pictures. I am using Google Chrome as my browser. When I opened this article in Internet Explorer - bang - only 6 and no scroll bars appear like I see in Chrome. Hope that helps narrow down the issue...has to be the encoding on the website somewhere (yes yes, I'm a techno-geek). Good Luck! April - try using Chrome (as a longtime Internet Explorer user it took me about a week to get used to Chrome, but I find it to be a lot nicer than IE).

Thank You Carla, that's terrific. I downloaded Google Chrome instead of Mozilla and ... there they were. Now I know what to tell all the people who've been stopping me at town hall, the library, NuVita and at games with the same complaint. You're a life saver Carla, thank you!

Wow Terri that's a lot of people stopping you! :-) My pleasure - glad I could help.
