Full Agenda for Amity Board of Ed Tonight

Artificial Turf, budgets, and voting on Amity Budget by a meeting rather than referendum to be discussed

The Amity  Board of Education will meet in the Presentation Room at the District Offices, tonight at 6:30 p.m. (Agenda PDF attached)

The agenda item that may slip by without anyone noticing, but could make a world of difference comes later in the meeting. This is within the Superintendent's Report, in which there will be a discussion of changing the tri-town Amity Budget Referendum to a District Meeting, therefore possibly making it easier for the budget to pass. (In past years the Amity budget had gone through multiple referenda before it was approved.)

Orange residents, especially should pay attention to this, since the latest numbers coming from the budget talks would increase Orange's contribution to the Amity budget from around $500,000 to $1.2 million in 2012-13.

Also, among the items of interest are possible approval to Support Community Fund Raising Efforts to Purchase and Install an Artificial Turf Field at Amity High School.
