Amity Leaves Branford In Its Wake (UPDATE: With Story)

The Spartans took on Branford High School Tuesday night at the Orange Town Pool.

 

The Amity Varsity Boys Swim Team left Branford in its wake at the Orange Town Pool on Tuesday night, winning 97 to 75.

The Amity Boys swimming and diving team improved their dual meet season record to 6-0 with a win against Branford on Tuesday night. Amity's 200 medley relay team of Eric Jiang, Eric Holden, Shea Middleton and Kyle LeMere started the meet with a win, and then Amity followed with impressive sweeps in the next two events.

Dylan Swanepoel, Sam Guerra and Charlie Pite, placed one, two, three in the 200 freestyle, and then A.J.Pite, Brian Liang and Matt Cucurello did the same in the 200 individual medley. Jacob Laser was first to the wall in the 50 freestyle, and then in diving, Zelun Wang scored 184 points for a second place finish.

Next, Amity's A.J. Pite, Charlie Pite, and Jiang placed first thru third in the 100 butterfly, and and Amity went 1-2 in the next two events.

(Guerra and Holden in the 100 freestyle, and Swanepoel and Liang in the 500 freestyle) After Amity's Laser, Swanepoel and Pite brothers won the 200 freestyle relay, Amity had racked up enough points to clinch a win, and they swam exhibition in the last three events.

Next on the schedule is an meeting with Xavier on January 24 at 7:30 pm at Wesleyan University.
