Amity Board of Ed Asking for Input

Recently the Board of Education adopted a new policy, which created a process for the naming of facilities.

One step in the new process is to seek input from the Amity community as a request to name/rename is being considered.

This message is to seek input regarding a request to name facilities at the football stadium as follows:

1.  Rename the existing William E. Sim Athletic Field.

This proposal would rename the complex the William E. Sim Athletic Complex. Dr. Sim served the district as superintendent with distinction until his untimely death in 1974.

2.  Name the football field the William “Bill” Johnson Football field in recognition of Mr. Johnson’s long and distinguished tenure as head football coach.

3. Name the press box the Stanley Gedansky Press Box in honor of Mr. Gedansky’s long and distinguished career as public address announcer.
