Vote Today: Win $100,000 for Orange Schools

Let's Show the USA that Orange is Number ONE!

Vote for Orange Through This Link

Davis, California, a town with 63,000 people has more than 2,456 votes so far in the finals, compared to Orange, Connecticut with a population of 14,000 or so, and about 451 votes as of midnight.

The Finalist round began at  9 a.m. our time on Friday, which was California's 6 a.m. so they had a 3 hour head start, and from reading the comments on the forerunners entry, the townspeople also had a headsup, so they knew to go online and dive into the voting.

The California contestants also, apparently appeared on a television show to publicize their good fortune (according to one of the comments) our Orange contestants did not have that advantage. So now, it's up to us.

We have more than 700 Facebook followers on Patch, so why don't we have at least 700 votes yet?

This isn't about the decorated house anymore, it's about the kids.

Imagine what $100,000 can do for the Orange School System. That's $100,000 less money that the Board of Education will have to ask taxpayers for in the next fiscal budget.

Break it down, that's $25,000 for each public school in town. And all you have to do is log onto http://deckthehouse.patch.com/ and vote once a day!

This time is crucial, Orange must be in the top 10 by midnight tonight.  So let's get on our computers and vote for Peggy Koether's entry in Orange, CT.

Tell your friends on Facebook, Tweet it out to everyone you know, e-mail your relatives with the link and tell them how important it is, talk to your neighbors and spread the word!

I've even put  here for you so if you have questions or concerns, you'll be able to move forward.

Who's going to win this contest, some Big Ol Town in California, or the Awesome town of Orange, Connecticut?

We have the heart, we have the resources, We Can Do This!

I hope to see at least 1,200 votes on our Orange entry tonight, Come On! Spread the Word!

Because of the holiday, schools aren't back in session until Tuesday, and by then, If we aren't in the top 10, it may be too late.

I'm doing my part, and I don't even live in Orange, but I Love this town and I believe YOUR kids deserve this. It is an awesome opportunity, Let's make the most of it and show everyone in the USA that Orange is NUMBER ONE!!!

Yay Congrats on getting this far! Now if just 10% of the 14,000 or so residents vote each day that would be 1400 votes a day! So yes its Winnable! (but don't think its a word lol)

"Who's going to win this contest, some Big Ol Town in California, or the Awsome town of Orange, Connecticut?" We must really need the education money, our residents can't spell "awesome".
