Polls Are Now Open: $15 Million Bond Package Up to Voters

From paving roads to new roofs for schools, here's the complete breakdown of what the money would be used for. Polls are open from noon to 8 p.m. today, March 20.

Paving town roads, installing roofs on schools, new heating systems and windows ... it all costs money. And the Town of Orange is looking to pay for them on its (your) credit card.

The $15,427,000 bond package breaks down as follows:

  • Board of Education: approximately $8 million
  • Paving: $5 million
  • Town Facilities: approximately $2.1 million
  • Police — Security Improvements: $125,000
  • Financing and Issuance Costs: $175,000

The complete breakdown, which details, for instance, the various items that make up the approximate $8 million for BOE, can be found in the PDF attached to this article.

You Have The Power

Whether the town issues the bond will be up to registered voters in Orange. You can cast your vote anytime between noon and 8 p.m. today, March 20, at the High Plains Community Center.
