No Frills School Nurses Contract Extended (with video)

Board votes to extend nurses contract.

The Board of Selectmen went into executive session Wednesday night, March 9, to discuss two subjects; the alternate Animal Control proposal and extending the Orange School Nurses contract by one year with conditions.

The animal control decision was not completed this week and could take a while longer to tweak the ‘language’ in the contract proposal.

The nurses contract agreement, for the four nurses currently in the elementary school district, however, with no salary increases, no step increases, no copay or benefit increases, was unanimously approved.

As First Selectman Jim Zeoli states in the accompanying video, the town appreciates the nurses for their consideration.

After the meeting he clarified that this is the first extension of their three-year contract.
