Michele Ciancola says defibrillators on playing fields can save lives

Five months after losing her son, Joey, an Orange mom testifies before the CT General Assembly



State Sen. Gayle Slossberg has proposed a bill mandating Automated External Defibrillators (AED) at athletic facilities on all college campuses.

Joseph "Joey" Ciancola, 20, an Amity grad and talented baseball player collapsed after a workout at the University of Rhode Island in October.

Last week his mom, Michele Ciancola, told state lawmakers that her son might still be alive if an AED had been available on the field.
