Malloy: Bus, Train Service Suspended Due To Hurricane Irene

Governor is taking the threat of Hurricane Irene very seriously.

In advance of Hurricane Irene impacting the state, Governor Dannel P. Malloy this afternoon announced a number of suspensions to bus and train service in the state.

SUSPENSIONS:

1. CTTRANSIT bus and paratransit operations will be suspended in the Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, Bristol, New Britain, Meriden, Waterbury and Wallingford Divisions beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 through Sunday, Aug. 28.

2. MetroNorth will suspend service at noon on Saturday, Aug. 27.

3. Shoreline East will suspend service at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27.

FYI: In New York, All Mass Transit will be shut down at noon on Saturday, Aug. 27. Broadway is closed. In New Jersey, the casinos are closed.
