Orange Political Parties Prepping For November Election

Slates have been announced and a new political party has entered the scene.

With the November municipal elections closer than they seem, Orange’s political parties have endorsed their slates of candidates, including a newcomer to the ticket, Independents For Orange (IFO).

The new party will be running at least two candidates this election cycle: Mike Richetelli for Board of Selectmen and elementary school principal Jim O’Connor for Board of Education.

The Orange Republican Town Committee has endorsed a full slate of candidates for November, with incumbent First Selectman Jim Zeoli leading the ticket. Zeoli has not yet announced his re-election intentions, and the GOP will caucus in July to vote on its slate.

Orange Democrats will be caucusing on July 22 to consider the Democratic Town Committee’s nominations, including attorney Ken Lenz for First Selectman and Jody Dietch and John Cifarelli for Board of Selectmen.
