Halloween is ON in Orange

Rumor has it that Halloween has been canceled

Because of the dangerous conditions in many towns, Governor Malloy has left the decision to allow trick-or-treating up to town leaders.

In some areas, such as Trumbull where downed power lines are still a hazard, Halloween has been canceled, but in Orange, it's a "Go."

First Selectman Jim Zeoli said Orange is pretty well cleaned up and to cancel Halloween would be "crazy."

With the dropping temperatures, everyone is cautioned to watch for black ice and slippery conditions, and all children should be accompanied by an adult.

Children should refrain from running across front lawns in the dark, just in case there are fallen branches that they can trip over.

Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather, wear gloves or mittens and carry a flashlight.

If you are driving be extra careful of the little ghosts and goblins that may run across the street and be aware of black ice that may make it impossible for you to stop on a dime.

This very well may be the scariest night of the year in Orange. Police ask that everyone use caution and be aware of their surroundings at all times.
