Voter Turnout Low So Far on Budget Referendum

Polls remain open until 8 p.m. for the Orange town budget referendum.

By 3:14 p.m. today, only 148 residents had come out to vote in the referendum on the town budget. By 3:40 p.m., only 150 ballots had been cast.

The total budget request of $43,408,621 for fiscal year 2011-12 is an increase of $651,224, or 1.52 percent above the current budget of $42,757,397.

Polls close at High Plains Community Center at 8 p.m. Don't forget to vote!
