Chris Murphy faces criticism for his attendance record at committee meetings by his opponent. An independent investigation by Hearst Connecticut Newspapers backs up the claim that Murphy missed three-fourths of the hearings during 2007-08, when the economy started rapidly declining. Linda McMahon (R): The Wall Street Journal acknowledges that it seems like a Republican has no chance in Connecticut, but the results of a Ramussen poll shows McMahon with a slight lead. Rosa DeLauro (D) condemned the much-criticized “legitimate rape” comments of U.S. Rep. Todd Akin in Missouri. On Facebook, she wrote that, “Rep. Akin's views are in the mainstream of the current Republican party.”
