Monday, Dec. 20, the Orange Board of Health had its monthly meeting at Case Memorial Library.
There is some concern over the revolving door for Director of the Orange Visiting Nurses Association. The Current Director had resigned for personal reasons effective Dec.22. There have been three directors in the past four years in a position that is usually very stable. Peggy Wagner will be acting director until a new director is hired.
There was also discussion recommending involvements of the OVNA at Emergency Management meetings.

Board of Health budget for 2011-2012 is essentially the same as it was for 2010-2011 There is an $1,400 increase requested for larviciding the catch basins for mosquitoes. The state funding was stopped last year and without approval, it will not get done this year. They also discussed getting the Salary of Dr. Joseph Zelson more in line with other Directors of Health.
There was some lively discussion about the role of the Board and concerns over a clear definition of responsibility and accountability, so that they can do the best possible job ensuring the quality of services for the health and well being of the residence of the Town of Orange. This will be discussed at the next meeting
