And The Republican Nominees in Orange Are . . .

The following report is based on a press release from the Orange Republican Town Committee.

November may be about six months away, but the Orange Republican Town Committee (RTC) is making preparations now for the upcoming election.

During a meeting on June 19, the RTC endorsed a full slate of candidates, with incumbent First Selectman James Zeoli at the top of the ticket.

“Jim has served as First Selectman since 2005 and has shown the vision and experience that is critical to the future of Orange,” said RTC Chairman Rick Roberts. 

Zeoli will be seeking his fifth term as First Selectman. 

“I will continue taking the tough issues facing our community head-on," Zeoli said. "We must continue to stress financial responsibility, both from a cost reduction and revenue generation standpoint. We have had great success with our commercial economic development and will continue to pursue the growth of our commercial tax base with a sound, well thought-out plan." 

"Together with my Republican team," he added, "I will continue to support and improve our schools which are among the best in the state. We have always and will continue to help seniors maintain a comfortable lifestyle in our town.”

A release from the RTC says it "has also endorsed a solid team of incumbents along with some talented newcomers who will join Zeoli on the Republican slate."
