Witnesses Sought In Serious Motorcycle Crash On Rt. 34

Two individuals suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon when their motorcycles crashed on Route 34 in Orange.

Police said the two riders were among three motorcycles that crashed in the westbound lanes near the intersection with Baldwin Road at about 3:25 p.m. on June 2. Numerous 911 calls came in to report the accident, police said.

Two of the drivers were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, police said. Their identities are being withheld by police at this time.

The three riders were among a large group of motorcyclists riding on Route 34 (Derby Road), witnesses reportedly told police. The bikes were described as "import" style, according to the report.

Orange police officers trained in traffic crash reconstruction were dispatched to the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.

The department is asking that anyone who may have witnessed the accident or events leading up to it, to contact Officer Harry Burke at 203-891-2130.
