Three Guns Stolen From Orange Gun Shop

Police are investigating a burglary that occurred last Friday night.

The police department is investigating a report of a commercial burglary over the weekend to a Boston Post Rd. firearms business, CT Firearms & Tactical at 501 Boston Post Rd.

On April 22 at about 11:26 p.m. the Department received an activated burglar alarm notification at the address. Responding officers found unknown subject(s) had forced entry into the business by defeating a rear entry door. No suspects were found on the premises.

Officers found a display case had been forcibly opened and later confirmed that three hand guns had been stolen. Taken was a .45 cal and two .22 cal hand guns.

The owner provided serial numbers for the firearms and they were entered into the National Crime Information Center database. The two suspects are described as two light skinned black or Hispanic males both appearing to be in their teens to early twenties.

Information developed also indicates the subjects may have been in the store during business hours looking at merchandise. Investigators are also communicating with the North Branford Police Department regarding their similar break in over the weekend.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest.

On Monday, five handguns were reported mising from a North Branford gun shop after a break in at the Perfect Trigger at 205 Foxon Road at 2:45 a.m.

When police arrived, they found a broken front window and several smashed display cases inside, and an area search revealed that the perpetrators had fled, according to the report.

It is unknown whether there is any connection between the two incidents.
