Sobriety Checkpoint tonight

Buckle up and don't drink and drive, the police will be keeping an eye out.

The Orange and Woodbridge Police Departments will be conducting joint
traffic assignments and sobriety checkpoints throughout the year.

The first joint venture under the existing Amity Regional Traffic Enforcement agreement will be a sobriety checkpoint at a location in the town of Orange tonight, Friday, May 27.

It is the hope of both departments to start the summer off safely for the motoring public," said Orange Asst. Police Chief Edward Koether. "Utilizing a grant from the Connecticut Department of Transportation both Departments will be supplementing our efforts against drunk driving. We want to stress the importance of not getting behind the wheel of your vehicle if you are under the influence."
