Settlement Proposed for Fatal Cop Crash

Almost three years after a late night accident in which a Milford police officer killed two Orange teenagers, lawsuits by the parents of one of the teens have been settled.

The Connecticut Post reported that the attorney for Frank and Susan Servin, the parents of David Servin, 19, has filed a proposed $2.5 million settlement in Milford Probate Court.

Police Officer Jason Anderson was returning to Milford on the Boston Post Road from a mutual aid call in Orange at 2 a.m. on June 13, 2009 when his police cruiser hit David Servin’s car, killing him and his passenger, Ashlie Krakowski, 19.

Anderson’s speed was recorded up to 94 miles per hour just prior to the collision, and he was not responding to an emergency call.

Anderson faces trial on manslaughter charges for the deaths. The Milford Police Department terminated his employment and Krakowski’s family has also filed lawsuits.
