Second Gun Shop Burglary Suspect Arrested

A 16-year-old was arrested just hours after an 18-year-old was charged with stealing three guns from an Orange gun shop.

Several hours after police announced that an arrest had been made in the April 22 gun shop burglary, during which three hand guns were stolen, officers arrested a second teen today at 3:45 p.m.

According to the report, Orange Police investigators quickly developed information that the 16 year old charged by Yale University Police on April 23, was involved in the burglary at the store.

Investigators applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for the 16 year old and served the warrant in Juvenile Detention in New Haven today at 3:45 p.m.

The youth was charged with third-degree burglary, three counts of theft of a firearm, fourth-degree larceny, first-degree criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit each of those charges.

He was remanded to custody at the Juvenile Detention Center until further order of the court.
