Readers Speak Out On Amity AntiDrug Enforcement Procedures

The Amity Board of Ed will listen to resident's comments regarding Amity procedures.

We posted the following question on our Orange Patch Facebook Page, "Do you want to see a stronger drug stance at Amity High?"

Here are the responses we've received so far:

Tom List Yes! The school needs to set a better example on the use and sale of drugs in the HS. These kids feel they can do what they want and frankly, present day, they are right! They get away with too much in terms of freedom to get into trouble, drugs or theft. There is great leadership in the system but there is a lack of consistent follow through to deter the students from feeling they can get away with anything.

Christian Young Then the policy on interrogating children without parental notification, presence, or involvement needs to be made crystal clear to all parents. Be careful what you ask for. More government and less privacy is a dangerous recipe ... Especially for children.
