Orange police say two women and three juveniles have been arrested after an attempted shoplifting from Target on the Boston Post Road. And according to what Target's loss prevention allegedly told police, the women and children worked together.
At about 9 p.m. Wednesday, officers headed to Target to respond to a shoplifting call. They allegedly found Nina Denby, 22, of New Haven, alongside three kids (ages 9, 14 and 15) -- and $1,253.72 in allegedly stolen Target merchandise. They allegedly arrested the second suspect -- Chanelle Kedazulu, 18, of Hamden -- as she left the store.
Denby and Kedazulu were charged with three counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor and fourth-degree Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. (Kedazulu was additionally charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny.) They were released on bond. The children were all charged with fourth-degree larceny and placed in the custody of adults, say reports.
