Police: Woman Misallocated Funds From Deceased Husband's Estate

The Orange resident turned herself in on charges of forgery and larceny.


A 54-year-old woman has been arrested on allegations that she misallocated funds from her deceased husband's estate and used his credit cards and checks.

Rosalie Hylwa, of North Greenbrier Road in Orange, turned herself in at police headquarters at 5 p.m. on March 22 on an outstanding warrant charging her with:

  • first-degree forgery
  • first-degree larceny
  • illegal use of a credit card

According to a report provided by Orange Police, "The warrant stemmed from misallocation of funds from her deceased husband’s estate, in addition to credit cards and checks that were used after he had passed."

Police said Hylwa was released on a promise to appear in court on April 4.
