How Busy Have Orange Police Been?

Call volume and criminal arrests are down from the previous month, but there was a slight increase in robberies and DWIs.

 

February was a shorter month and the latest stats from the Orange Police Department show that activity slowed a bit from the previous month.

The number of calls for service dropped by nearly 900 from January to February, from 2,958 to 2,075. February's call volume equates to about 74 calls per day (2,075 calls / 28 days).

Most categories the department tracks saw a decrease, too, but a few — including robberies and DWIs — increased.

  • 2,075 — calls for service
  • 2 — robberies
  • 2 — burglaries (1 residential, 1 commercial)
  • 113 — activated burglar alarms
  • 17 — criminal arrests
  • 15 — shoplifting/larcenies
  • 15 — fights/disturbances
  • 5 — arrests for DWIs
  • 99 — traffic accidents
  • 180 — motor vehicle citations
  • 110 — medical emergencies
