POLICE NEWS: Road Rage Incident, Assault In Shelton

These are the most recently released police reports.

 

Reckless endangerment

Officers responded to Shepherd Lane regarding a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on March 17 at 2:33 p.m.

Investigation revealed that the two vehicles involved had initially encountered each other on Route 34, where one vehicle allegedly cut the other off.

Both vehicles exited Route 34 and stopped on Shepherd Lane, where the arrestee drove his pickup truck in reverse on Shepherd Lane and purposely drove directly into the front of the victim’s vehicle, completely disabling it.

Police said the arrestee, Allan Gottesman, 45, of 682 Lambert Road, left the scene, but officers located him at his home shortly thereafter. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, evading responsibility of a motor vehicle accident and unsafe backing. 

Gottesman was released after posting $5,000 bond for court April 2.

 

Assault

On Tuesday, March 27, Shelton Police Detectives served an arrest warrant against Andrew O’Connell, 18, of 528 Wheelers Farm Road, in relation to the investigation of the serious assault which occurred on March 18 on Coram Avenue in Shelton.

O’Connell was charged with first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.

O’Connell was held on a $250,000 court set bond. He was arraigned Wednesday at Derby Superior Court.

 

Disorderly Conduct

The CT State Police picked up John Norton, 41, of 6 Mathew Road, North Haven on an unrelated matter and brought him to the Orange Police Department on March 18 at 11:01 a.m.

At police headquarters, officers served a warrant against Norton which stemmed from an incident on Feb. 4 at the Cumberland Farms Gas Station at 151 Boston Post Road, when he reportedly got into an altercation with another customer.

According to the report, the altercation turned physical, and Norton struck the other person.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and released on $500 bond for court April 2.

 

Threatening

Officers responded to a dispute complaint on Blackberry Hollow, March 19 at 8:34 p.m.

When officers arrived they learned that Xiao Li, 51, of 878 Blackberry Hollow had gotten into an argument with his ex-wife, and during this argument, he threatened to harm her.

Li was charged with threatening and held on $1,000 bond for court March 20.
