POLICE NEWS: Disturbance and DUIs in the blotter

Here are the latest reports from the Orange Police Department.

 

Breach of peace

Police were dispatched to Plato's Closet, 575 Boston Post Road, on a disturbance complaint April 7 at 2:07 p.m.

Investigation revealed that Alyssa Gillespy, 19, of 32 Richard St., Milford was inside the store when she reportedly began throwing merchandise around and knocking over store displays.

Gillespy was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief.

She was released after posting $500 bond for court April 23.

Driving on school lawn

Police received a complaint of an erratic driver on Route 34 April 7 at 10:14 p.m. and found the car leaning against a tree on the front lawn of Amity Middle School on Ohman Avenue.

According to the report, officers administered roadside sobriety tests on Myriam Fernandez, 49, of 835 College Road.

Fernandez was charged with driving while under the influece of alcohol or drugs (DUI), failure to drive in a proper lane, and driving with a suspended license.

She was released on a promise to appear in court April 16.


Drunken driving

Patrol officers stopped a car on the Boston Post Road April 9 at 1:27 a.m. after seeing it weaving within the travel lanes on the eastbound side.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers had the driver, Segundo Ochoa, 34, of, 228 Dayton Street, West Haven, perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.

He was taken into custody and charged with DUI, failure to drive in a proper lane and driving with a suspended license.

He was released on a promise to appear in court April 24.
