Police: Neighbors' Argument Turns Physical

Both men were arrested by Orange Police.

Two Orange residents were arrested Thursday morning after an argument turned physical.

According to police, the men are neighbors who live on Derby-Milford Road.

"Officers learned that the two neighbors had gotten into an argument. This argument became heated, and later turned physical," the police report states. "Both parties were taken into custody and charged."

The men arrested were:

  • Ronald Lavin, 42, on charges of third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. 

  • Joseph Scavelli, 30, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. 

Both men were released after posting a $500 bond, and are due in court on Sept. 26.
