Police: Man Assaults Pregnant Woman In Front of 3-Year-Old
Orange Police arrest a New Haven man in the parking lot of the AC Moore store in town.
A 45-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly hit a pregnant woman in front of a 3-year-old child.
Orange Police arrested the man March 16 in the parking lot of AC Moore store at 220 Indian River Road, after getting a report at 2:02 p.m. of a disturbance in progress.
"Upon arrival, officers learned that the arrestee had gotten into an argument with a pregnant female, and that the argument turned physical," the police repor states. "The victim in this case also has a protective order against the arrestee, and the entire incident occurred in the presence of a three year old child."

The man, Darius Fullwood, of New Haven, was arrested on charges of:
- third-degree assault on a pregnant person
- third-degree strangulation
- criminal violation of a protective order
- second-degree breach of peace
Police said Fullwood was held on a $50,000 bond and was arraigned the next day, March 17. He was scheduled to appear in court again March 27.

According to the state Judicial Branch website, Fullwood also has pending charges against him out of New Haven.
He has convictions for second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, Judicial Branch records show.
