Police: Man Arrested for Stealing, Smashing Pumpkins

A second suspect is still at large in the Stop & Shop pumpkin dustup.

 

Police have arrested a Hamden man and are seeking another suspect in the case of two people allegedly caught grabbing pumpkins from an outdoor display at Stop & Shop and smashing them on the ground in the early hours of October 19.

According to reports, Christopher Pittman, 23, fled when he saw police coming, but was caught a short distance away. His alleged co-conspirator in the pumpkin attack is still at large, according to reports, but police say they will continue the investigation.

Pittman was charged with 3rd-degree Criminal Mischief and Interfering with an Officer, and held on $1000 bond.
