Police Confirm Three Home Burglary Incidents

Personal e-mails and a late night tip to Patch stirred the pot regarding burglaries on Thursday, now the police tell what happened.

 

In a press release from the Orange Police Department, we are informed of the following:

The Department is investigating three residential burglaries that occurred during the day on Thursday, Jan. 5.

Officers responded to an activated burglar alarm at a residence on Cherry Hill Rd at about 11:03 a.m. and found forced entry had been made to a rear door. Nothing was reported to be missing from the residence.

At 11:52 a.m. an alarm was reported at a residence on Deer Run la. Responding officers found a rear slider door had been entered. A jewelry box was reportedly taken from the residence and a canine may have prevented the person or persons from spending more time.

A witness later reported they had observed a smaller black sedan leaving the driveway of the residence occupied by two white or Hispanic males during the day.

At about 5 p.m. a resident on Wheeler Farm’s Rd. arrived home and discovered their home had been forcibly entered sometime during the day. A window had been broken and entry made. There was some jewelry taken from the residence.

Residents are reminded to keep doors and windows locked in their homes and to contact police if anything out of the ordinary is seen in the neighborhood.
