Police Blotter: Orange Cops Nab Alleged Drill Thief

No word on if the theft was committed for money or just the drill of it.

 

5:40 p.m., July 23rd:

Police on patrol at the Lowe's at 50 Post Road say they saw a man run out of the store holding two cordless drills. He threw one drill into a waiting car, which sped away from the scene, and kept the other as he tried to run from police into a nearby business.

Police nabbed him anyway, and while processing the arrest learned he was wanted in East Haven, West Haven, and by the state police. The man, Robert Redente of East Haven, was charged with 5th-degree Larceny, Conspiracy to Commit 5th-degree Larceny, and Interfering with an Officer. He is being held on $100 bond.
