Here are a few arrests from this month.

OFFICERS SERVED a warrant against a Southbury man while he was appearing at Derby Superior Court on an unrelated matter April 4 at 11 a.m.

The warrant stemmed from an August 30, 2010 incident during which Timothy Sajda, 45, of 93 Jacqueline Drive, allegedly was involved in an argument with a family member that turned physical resulting in the relative being pushed to the ground causing minor injury.

Sajda was charged with third-degree assault and violation of a protective order.

A WEST HAVEN man was arrested on a warrant April 8 at 3:01 a.m.

According to the report, Sean Amendola, 37, of 42 Sundance Circle, was stopped by state police on an unrelated matter and turned over to Orange Police at Headquarters.

Police said the warrant stemmed from a December 3, 2010 larceny complaint at Target on the Boston Post Road for which Amendola reportedly was caught on video stealing a $549.99 vacuum cleaner.

While in custody, officers served three other warrants charging him with failure to appear in court on that charge.

He was charged with fifth-degree larceny and three counts of second-degree failure to appear in court.

 

POLICE WERE dispatched to Route 34 on a report of an erratic driver, April 2 at 3 a.m.

According to the report, responding officers found that the driver had gone off the roadway and struck a tree near Route 114.

Witnesses said that the car crossed over into oncoming traffic before crashing and that the driver appeared to be asleep.

When officers approached the accident scene they confirmed that the driver was asleep.

Timothy White, 27, of 89 Coleman Street #724 West Haven, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, failure to drive in a proper lane, driving with a suspended license.

Bond was $500 for court April 4.
