Police: Arrests for One New, One Old DUI

Arrests include a DUI from last week, and a DUI-related accident in May.


October 19, 11:49 p.m.

Responding to a complaint of an erratic driver, police stopped a car on Prindle Hill Road. They arrested Shannon Couden, 42, of West Haven after performing sobriety tests. Couden was charged with Driving Under the Influence and released after posting $50 bond.

October 20, 10:25 a.m.

Eduardo Chabla, 34, of Ansonia turned himself in at headquarters. Chabla was allegedly responsible for a single-car incident on May 6, when he struck a guardrail while driving under the influence, according to reports. Police say Chabla told officers at the scene he was a passenger, not the driver, but investigators later issued an arrest warrant. Chabla was charged with DUI, Failure to Drive in the Proper Lane, and Interfering with an Officer's Investigation, and released after posting $50 bond.
