Police Arrest Man Allegedly Armed and Under Influence at Country Fair

The Ansonia resident turned himself in at Orange Police Headquarters Thursday.

A man who was reportedly either drunk or high -- and armed -- at the Orange Country Fair in September turned himself in to police Thursday.

John Powe, 63, of Ansonia allegedly acted erratically in fairgrounds parking area on September 15, leading police to speak with him -- and discover the handgun, legal and registered. But a warrant was issued for Powe's arrest for Carrying a Firearm While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or Drugs, and his handgun was seized, according to reports.
