Orange Police Seize 69 Pot Plants in Lambert Road Bust

Cops say they discovered a "substantial marijuana growing operation" in an Orange home.

Orange police officials say a Monday night search of a Lambert Road home netted 69 marijuana plants, 2.5 pounds of cultivated marijuana, and a variety of growing and packaging equipment.

According to a statement, Orange Police conducted the warranted search at about 7 p.m. Monday night after getting a tip about drug activity at the home. Police worked with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force.

Police say they used a low-flying helicopter to monitor the house in case potential suspects fled into the woods. Two suspects were arrested, but police have not released identification yet. Patch will bring you more on this story as information becomes available.
