Orange Police Blotter: Jan. 18-20

Jermaine Pearson, 39, of 10 L East Alpine St, Newark, NJ, was charged at 6:10 p.m. with fourth-degree larceny, second-degree forgery, third-degree forgery, two counts of criminal impersonation, third-degree identity theft, possession of marijuana and false statement to procure a credit card.

Officers conducting routine patrol observed the arrestee running from the Best Buy store, being followed by store employees. Officers learned that the arrestee had attempted to make a large purchase inside of Best buy with what was determined to be a fraudulent Pennsylvania id card in someone else’s name. Investigation revealed that the arrestee had made a fraudulent purchase at Lowe’s prior to coming to Best Buy, and that he was carrying a small amount of marijuana on his person at the time of the arrest.

Kenneth Appel, 55, of 7 Wellington Dr, Orange, was charged at 7:13 p.m. with disorderly conduct.

Police Report: 

Officers arrived at a private residence on Wellington Drive in regard to a disturbance. Officers learned that the arrestee had gotten into an argument with a family member. During the argument, the arrestee put a hole in the wall of the residence and threw objects around, prompting the response from police. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged.
