Orange Police Blotter: Dec. 4-8

Dec. 4

Chakeya Logan, 26, of 382 Grand Ave, New Haven, was charged at 2:27 p.m. with sixth-degree larceny.

Police Report:

Officers responded to the Burlington Coats store for a shoplifter. Officers learned that the arrestee had selected $22.98 worth of clothing from the shelves and left the store without paying for it. She was taken into custody and charged. 

James Wright, 20, of 282 Terrace Ave, West Haven, was charged at 8:59 p.m. with possession of marijuana and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Police Report:

Officers received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of Woodland Lane. Officers located the vehicle and found two people inside, the arrestee and a juvenile. The arrestee admitted that they were smoking marijuana inside the vehicle. Officers seized a small amount of marijuana, and discovered that the license plate on the vehicle was assigned to a different car and that there was no insurance on the vehicle. 

Dec. 8

Antonio Fernandez, 24, of 340 Rimmon Rd, Woodbridge, was charged at 1:08 a.m. with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Police Report:

Officers conducting radar patrol clocked a vehicle traveling at 61 mph in a 30 mph zone. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers had the driver perform standardized roadside sobriety tests. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged.
