Woman Charged with Assault
A woman who was reportedly intoxicated allegedly became physically violent with her family when they attempted to stop her from driving, and she was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Police responded to a Cedar Grove residence at 9:48 p.m. on July 10 on report of a disturbance and arrested Rose Marie Helwig, 48, on the above charges. Helwig was released on a promise to appear in court on July 11.
Illegal Fireworks
A man who lives on Pine Tree Lane was charged with illegal use of fireworks after police responded to his home on July 7 -- twice.
Police said Robert Hanscome, 56, was warned the first time they responded to a complaint of fireworks at his home at about 9:45 p.m., and he reportedly agreed to stop. "Shortly thereafter, the fireworks resumed, and officers went back to the residence, and issued enforcement to the arrestee," police said.
Hanscome was released on a promise to appear in court on July 23.
Disorderly Conduct Arrest
A Manley Heights resident was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct following an alleged argument at 6:27 p.m. on July 9.
According to Orange Police, Joseph Chipello, 57, was intoxicated when the disturbance took place. He reportedly punched doors and walls inside the house prior to police arrival.
Chipello was arrested and released after posting a $500 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on July 10.
